West End Divers Speciality Diving Courses
At West End Divers we have a range of PADI specialty diving courses. Each course is designed to help expand your scuba diving knowledge and skills and make your recreational diving experience more enjoyable.

Enriched Air Nitrox

The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. You will have more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Divers, who have mastered their buoyancy move effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend, or hover easily. They interact smoothly with aquatic life and minimally affect their surroundings. The Peak Performance Buoyancy course refines your buoyancy skills and elevates them to the next level.

Scuba Review

Has it been a while since you’ve been scuba diving? Do you feel like your scuba skills and knowledge are a bit rusty? The Scuba Review Tune-up is just the refresher you need. It reacquaints you with diving so that you're back to feeling comfortable in the underwater world in less than a day.

Deep Diver

After your first few dives, you soon want to explore a bit deeper. There’s something exciting and mysterious about the depth that attracts divers. This course will teach you how to explore the deep safely.

Wreck Diver

Whether scuttled on purpose as an artificial reef or the result of mishap, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, airplanes, and even automobiles nearly irresistible because they are intriguing to explore, exciting avenues of discovery, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The Wreck Diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.

Night Diver

Night diving opens a different realm of the underwater world. Although you’ve seen the reef before, this time you drop into a new world and cast of creatures that comes out after the sun goes down.

Equipment Specialist

Don’t miss a dive due to an equipment problem . Whether it's a blown o-ring, regulator problem, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, you learn how to manage basic scuba equipment adjustments. As an Equipment Specialist, you are prepared for the equipment maintenance, care, and adjustments you will encounter every day.

Manual: “Encyclopedia of Diving” is recommended
Time Commitment: 10 to 12 hours

Emergency Oxygen Provider

Be the one ready to help a fellow diver, should the need arise, by becoming an Emergency Oxygen Provider. In this course you will learn how to recognize oxygen treatable illnesses, equipment setup, and proper administration.

Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours

The DSAT Gas Blender

The demand for enriched air is increasing as more people are diving with nitrox and other special mixes. The DSAT Gas Blender course will train you as a qualified gas blender, allowing you to provide gas mixes to appropriately certified consumers. You will learn the physical properties of oxygen, its associated hazards, handling requirements, and what cleaning equipment is necessary. Finally, you will learn the five methods of obtaining the desired enriched air nitrox mix.

The PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating

If you want to join the best of the best in recreational scuba diving, then do so by becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver – a rating that puts you in a class of distinction. After you have obtained your Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver Certifications, and have completed five specialty courses, you are qualified to obtain this rating. You have expended the effort to improve your skills and experience, why not gain the recognition you deserve.

Project AWARE Foundation

Project AWARE is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to conserving the aquatic environment. They focus on achieving this goal through education, advocacy, and action. As a diver you are offered the opportunity to increase your knowledge of the underwater world through several PADI specialty courses.

In the Project AWARE Specialty course you will learn about some of the more pressing issues confronting the underwater environment and the everyday actions you can follow to help with the conservation efforts.

Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours

Fish Identification

Have you ever been scuba diving and asked yourself or your buddy, "What was that?” This course provides you with the fish identification basics. You can use the skills you learn on every scuba dive because after you have learned the main fish families and characteristics, the information will help you decipher the species you see in other places.

Number of Dives: 2

Coral Reef Conservation

This course is designed to give you important information about, how reefs function, why they are important, why many are in serious trouble, and what you can do to help prevent further decline.

Manual: “Our World Our Water”
Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours

Underwater Naturalist

In this course you will learn not only what fish and animals are, but also, how they interact with each other and their environment. Understanding why underwater creatures behave the way they do and what their role is in the aquatic ecosystem is both interesting and rewarding.
